We’re excited to announce thatĀ Moodle Workplace 5.0Ā is now available. This release is all aboutĀ decentralising admin without losing controlĀ – giving managers, admins, and teams the tools they need to act quickly, stay organised, and keep training on track.
Hereās an overview of whatās new in Workplace 5.0:
š§© Smarter program management
Learners can now self-enrol into programs through a cleaner, more intuitive interface in the Learning Catalogue – freeing up admin time and speeding up compliance, onboarding, and development.
ā Programs can also be linked to course categories, making them easier to find and organise.
š Clearer insights with visual reporting
Workplace 5.0 introduces a new Report and Chart block, making it easy to visualise the data youāve already built in Report Builder. Add interactive bar, line, or pie charts to the Dashboard and Custom pages, with real-time filtering, toggleable table/chart views, and fullscreen display.
ā Turn custom reports into clear, actionable dashboards – no exports or external tools needed.
ā±ļø More control with dynamic rules scheduling
Admins can now set start and end dates for dynamic rules, allowing automations to run on a fixed schedule.
ā Take a āset it and forget itā approach to tasks like onboarding sequences or compliance deadlines – saving time, reducing errors, and keeping everything on track.
š„ Team management without the bottlenecks
Managers – as assigned by your Workplace siteās organisational structure – can now enrol their team members into individual courses, in addition to programs and certifications, directly from the My Teams block.
ā They can also adjust due dates, view enrolment history, and track completions – all without needing course-level admin rights.
š Faster course access for managers
Managers defined by your organisational structure can now use a new course enrolment launcher to quickly browse all available courses for their team – without navigating through categories or course pages.
ā Less clicking, faster action, and better support for team members – right when itās needed.
šļø Smarter tenant archiving and user retention
When a tenant is archived, its users are now suspended in place – theyāre no longer moved to the Default tenant. This keeps user data, enrolments, and histories intact, making it easier to restore or reassign accounts if needed.
ā Plus, a new autocomplete tenant selector improves the admin experience on large sites with many tenants – making it faster to find and select the right one.
