Wearable technology

Wearable technology was recently launched by Google, namely Google Glass, but there is speculation that Apple is also exploring wearable technology.

What is Google Glass?

Google glass is a wearable computer; it takes the form of eyewear with a camera in front of your eye. Built into the spectacles is a camera, display, touchpad, battery and microphone; the display lets you film, take pictures search and translate.

How does it work?

According to Google:

Google Glass is designed to deliver quick and pertinent information to users while not interfering with their lives.

Google’s website for the Glass project shows what it feels like to wear the glasses. It shows the wearer giving commands such as ‘take a picture’ or ‘record video’; Google has designed Glass to be simple and easy to use.

What is the iWatch?

iWatch is a smartwatch device that can be worn on the user’s wrist. Based on media speculation the iWatch is expected to function like a phone but also have fitness capabilities with an integrated pedometer and health monitoring capability.

Wearable technology is fast becoming the future; we’ll have to wait and see what iWatch can do when Apple is ready to launch it.
