Our Philosophy

We believe that learning should be open, connected and flexible. Learning deserves to be available to anyone, at anytime, from anywhere, about anything.

We advocate a social constructivist approach to pedagogy whereby educators and learners establish a culture of shared understanding, work together, exchange ideas and learn from each other in a community-based environment. We know learning is most effective when it is communicative, collaborative and participative. Social learning tools, offered by learning management systems – including blogs, chat, forums, messaging and wikis enhance the learning experience. On the same token, a blended learning approach has infinite merit whereby web-based learning experiences add value to the face-to-face tradition of same time, same place education.

We are committed to acting as an ecologically and socially responsible corporate citizen.

We have supported the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project since 2007. The OLPC (XO Laptop) helps create educational opportunities for the world’s most disadvantaged children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning. The XO is a potent learning tool designed and built especially for children in developing countries, living in some of the world’s most remote environments.

We are taking action on climate change now by working with Carbon Neutral Ltd to measure and offset greenhouse gas emissions associated with its carbon footprint. We have committed to mitigating climate change by offsetting 25 tonnes of carbon emissions by the acquittal of ‘Greenhouse Friendly’ verified abatement.
